הליים שייך למשפחת ההדרים ונפוץ במיוחד בארצות חמות כמו הקריבים והמזרח הרחוק.

הפירות מבשילים בשיא הקיץ בזמן שעצי הלימון הפוריים ביותר לא מבשילים ומחירי הלימון בשוק עולים. יש להם קליפה דקה וחלקה. התחלת ההבשלה שלהם היא בצבע ירוק בהיר והם הופכים לצהובים בשיא ההבשלה. הפירות עסיסיים ומלאים מיץ בטעם חמוץ שמתאפיין בארומה עדינה.

הזן שאנחנו מגדלים עמוס פרי ועסיסי במיוחד ללא גלעינים.

 

העץ ירוק כל השנה כמו שאר ההדרים. גובהו נע בין 3-6 מטרים ואפשר לעצב אותו בקלות ע”י גיזום.
